SEA is about setting up, monitoring, and adjusting advertising campaigns in search engines. The goal is to generate as many leads as possible.
SEA can, in certain cases, be a good addition to SEO. After all, you have a better chance of quickly getting noticed by your target audience with a paid search result at the top of page 1.
In general, SEA generates leads faster than SEO, but the quality of leads from SEO is better. Especially when you add lead automation to the mix.
The intensity of competition on the keywords you want to rank for also plays a role. The tougher the competition, the more SEA you need. This is because, for popular searches, the organic results are pushed down by ads and featured items, such as 'people also ask'.
