Vacancies that remain open for a long time? You’re not the only one! Only 7% of candidates are actively looking for a new job. During our Recruitment Marketing knowledge session on Thursday, October 16, we showed how you can reach and engage the other 93% for your organization.
Collaboration with Cowboys
We organized this knowledge session in collaboration with recruitment marketing agency Cowboys from Amsterdam. That is one of the advantages of our affiliation with the Newww Media Group earlier this year. As part of this group of fast-growing digital agencies, we can make use of specific expertise, without you having to approach different parties.
Reason
The demand for personnel is (it seems) greater than ever, and for many entrepreneurs, HR, and marketing managers, it is a daily headache. Where do you find new colleagues and how do you make sure they stay? Recruitment agencies are called in, exotic employment conditions are drawn up, and job fairs are scoured. Often without the desired result…
Start with a strong employer brand
Evert kicked off with an inspiring story about building a strong employer brand. The employer brand answers the question: why would someone want to work at your organization? After all, a good mechanic, software engineer, work planner, or accountant can work almost anywhere. That’s exactly why it’s important to show who you are and what you stand for. Not just “this is what we do,” but above all: “this is who we are.”

From Details to Emotion
There will always be organizations with more attractive employment conditions. That’s not where you make the difference. The real impact comes from appealing to emotion: values candidates can identify with and the feeling your organization evokes. People choose a place where they feel at home, where they want to belong, and where they can be proud. Dare to make choices and especially address the people who truly fit your organization.
Recruitment Marketing in Practice
In the second part, Paulo Bruns and Wessel Boekschooten from Cowboys took the floor. They explained what recruitment marketing is and how, based on your employer brand, you can consistently reach more high-quality candidates and encourage them to take action.
The Recruitment Marketing Funnel
Cowboys uses the recruitment marketing funnel to engage candidates at every stage. Active job seekers move more quickly to the application phase. Passive candidates need to be stimulated first: from awareness to consideration and then to application.
Smart Advertising on Social Media
With social media ads tailored to each phase, you address the candidate’s needs at that moment. Through retargeting based on interaction, your target group becomes increasingly specific and relevant—and you can continually refine your message. This approach ensures a consistent flow of suitable applicants.
Questions from Our Clients
After Cowboys’ presentation, attendees shared their own questions. Armed with practical tips and valuable insights, the conversation continued during the closing drinks.
We sincerely thank Cowboys for the collaboration!
