Arine Ruesen, an experienced office manager, has a background in administration and change management. Since July, she has been the face of our lab and, with her organizational skills, brings calm to the creative bustle at MM.
Arine: “I had been following MM on social media for years and I’m happy I made the move to the lab: I now truly feel like a real MM’er!”
Extensive range of tasks
The ‘official’ part of her duties consists of administration, placing orders, answering emails and phone calls, and welcoming clients. “In addition, my workdays mostly involve anticipating what is needed. Such as delivering printed materials, managing the agenda, and making sure the office keeps running smoothly.”
Young company
“In the social media posts, I saw a young and uncomplicated company. That appealed to me. I also really like that it’s close by and that I can cycle to work.” Through a friend, Arine came across our job vacancy and decided to apply. “It had been a few years since I had a job like this. The type of company, the location, and the part-time position convinced me.”
Education and experience
Arine has completed many courses. “As a business administrator, I also had administration in my curriculum. In the evenings, I also studied change management at Erasmus University.” She gained most of her work experience as a manager at PostNL. “I was also a photographer for a while, but I found that too lonely. I missed interacting with colleagues.”
Open and Honest Atmosphere
And that is exactly what she now appreciates so much with us! “The mix of young and old, little hierarchy, the atmosphere is open, honest, and transparent. Martijn is also very approachable, and I actually find the generational differences very educational!” In other words: is she enjoying herself? “Absolutely! Close to home, and with a lot of appreciation for the team spirit!”
Helping Colleagues
“What gives me energy? Solving problems! I love getting stuck into things and bringing them to a good conclusion for all parties. Especially if I can help my colleagues in the process. I also notice that my experience at a large company can be of added value. For example, as a sparring partner for Martijn and the other MM’ers. And then really in an advisory role, without stepping on anyone’s toes: offering help when it’s wanted.”
Three Daughters
With her three daughters, the sixteen-year-old twins and the eldest who is nineteen, Arine has her hands full at home. “I go to their sports matches and run the household. I don’t play sports myself, but I walk every day and use my bike as much as possible. I love police series and do a sudoku every day.”
“Holidays? For years I’ve been going to Bonaire with my sister: we’re really hooked on that island, precisely because it’s so manageable and we can enjoy ourselves without having to do anything. In the summer I also go out with the girls, usually wherever they want to go: to Italy, or just a holiday in our own country.”
Now you know who you’re talking to when you call our lab. 😉
Arine, we’re happy with the added value you bring to team MM!
